Welcome

I’ve always believed that true growth start when you’re out of your comfort zone. I am here to do just that. Give_it_a_goPDP serves as a platform to share my journey through my leadership personal development plan !! I started the time to leader program this year and it opened my eyes to how much there is to experience in the pursute of becoming leader.
I’ve set myself the challenging of trying something new every month. The hope is that I feel more confident in giving new things a go ! It’s all about finding joy in the process

Nice to Meet You

Welcome to my personal development plan! My name is Emily and I set up this site to create a space to share my personal development plan prompted by leadership programs I have been involved with. I am a married, almost 30, dog mum.

I currently work in Scarborough as the team leader for Rough Sleeper Support Services. My title is the rough sleeping/REACH partnership coordinator. Loosely translated this means I coordinate the support for everyone sleeping rough across Scarborough, Whitby and Filey. It also means I project manage our Housing First project. I have one officer I directly manage and a wider multi-disciplinary team that work within Housing First. My days are busy and I definitely would like to find more effective ways of working.

Recently the council have been through a period of transformation themselves. We have come together to form a larger unitary council.

I initially started this blog to share my ‘time to lead’ development plan. This was on the back of a leadership program delivered by the old borough council.

More recently, North Yorkshire Council have accepted me onto a Middle Management Program, that I am currently working my way through. this program has prompted me to make a development plan to transition into being a better leader. I have integrated the learning from this course into this online space as well.

I love learning and I’m competitive so academics are my strong suit. I’d love to complete a doctorate degree or phd one day.

I try to stay active but I am far from healthy. This is something I’d like to improve on !  I would also love to develop my DIY skills to revamp my new home.
